Thailand entry requirements for travellers from France
Visa requirement summary
French passport holders can enter Thailand without a visa for tourism and short stays. The current visa exemption allows up to 60 days per entry.
Thailand’s Cabinet has approved a move to a 30-day limit for most countries including France, but as of late 2026 this had not yet been published in the Royal Gazette and was not in effect at borders. Verify the current rule with the Royal Thai Embassy in Paris before booking travel — the change can come into force within 15 days of gazette publication.

Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)
All visitors to Thailand must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) before arrival — this has been mandatory since May 2025 and applies to everyone, including visa-exempt travellers. Submit it free at tdac.immigration.go.th within 72 hours of your scheduled arrival. A QR code confirmation will be emailed to you.

Passport validity requirements
Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your arrival date in Thailand. Check the expiry date carefully before booking — airlines will enforce this requirement.
Proof of funds and financial requirements
Expect to show adequate funds if asked at the border. The standard expectation is 20,000 THB per person or 40,000 THB for a travelling family. Cash, bank cards, or recent bank statements are all acceptable.
Onward or return travel
A confirmed return or onward flight booking should be available to show at immigration and at airline check-in. This demonstrates that you intend to leave before your exemption period expires.
Health requirements
No vaccination proof is required at the Thai border for French citizens. Independent travel health advice from a médecin voyageur is recommended before travelling to Thailand.
Other entry requirements
Thailand’s drug laws are among the strictest in the world. Trafficking carries the death penalty; possession is also a serious criminal offence. E-cigarettes and vaping devices are prohibited — confiscation and significant fines apply.
