Thailand entry requirements for travellers from the UAE
Visa requirement summary
UAE passport holders can enter Thailand without a visa for tourism and short visits. The current visa exemption allows up to 60 days per entry.
Thailand’s Cabinet approved reducing this to 30 days for most countries including the UAE, but as of late 2026 the change had not been published in the Royal Gazette and was not yet in force. The 60-day exemption remained the operative rule at Thai borders. Confirm the current position with the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Dubai before you travel.

Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)
All visitors to Thailand must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card before arrival. This has been mandatory since May 2025 and applies to all travellers regardless of nationality. Submit your TDAC free of charge at tdac.immigration.go.th within 72 hours of your arrival. An email confirmation with a QR code will be sent to you.
How long you can stay
UAE passport holders may stay for up to 60 days per entry under the current exemption. If you need more time, a 30-day extension is available at any Thai immigration office for 1,900 THB.
Passport validity requirements
Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your planned arrival date. Airlines check this at check-in — verify your passport before booking.
Proof of funds and financial requirements
The standard expectation at the Thai border is 20,000 THB per person or 40,000 THB per family. Cash, a bank card, or a recent bank statement are all accepted.
Onward or return travel
A confirmed return or onward flight should be available to show at check-in and on arrival at Thai immigration.
Health requirements
No vaccination proof is required for UAE passport holders entering Thailand.
Other entry requirements
Thailand has very strict drug laws, including the death penalty for trafficking. E-cigarettes and vaping devices are prohibited in Thailand — bringing them into the country risks confiscation and significant fines.
The visa exemption is for tourism only. Employment or paid work requires the appropriate visa and work permit.
