Thailand entry requirements for travellers from Russia
Visa requirement summary
Russian passport holders can enter Thailand without a visa under a bilateral visa-exemption agreement. The arrangement allows Russian nationals to stay for up to 30 days per entry without prior visa application.
This bilateral agreement is separate from the general 93-country scheme reviewed by the Thai Cabinet in 2026, so the proposed reform to reduce the wider list to 30 days does not affect the Russia–Thailand bilateral arrangement in the same way. The 30-day exemption remained in force as of late 2026. Confirm the current position with the Royal Thai Embassy before you travel.

Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC)
All visitors to Thailand must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card before arrival. This has been mandatory since May 2025. Submit it free at tdac.immigration.go.th within 72 hours before arrival. A QR code will be emailed to you.
How long you can stay
Russian nationals may stay for up to 30 days per entry. A 30-day extension is available at any Thai immigration office for 1,900 THB. For longer stays, apply for a Tourist Visa before travel — many Russian long-stay visitors in Thailand apply for multiple-entry tourist visas.
Passport validity requirements
Your passport must be valid for at least six months from your arrival date in Thailand.
Proof of funds and financial requirements
The standard requirement is 20,000 THB per person or 40,000 THB per family. Cash or a bank statement may be used as evidence. Russian travellers should be aware that international payment cards may be restricted due to banking sanctions — carrying sufficient cash (Thai baht or US dollars to exchange) is advisable.
Onward or return travel
A confirmed return or onward flight should be available to show at immigration.
Health requirements
No vaccinations are required to enter Thailand from Russia.
Other entry requirements
Thailand prohibits narcotics and bans e-cigarettes. The visa exemption is for tourism only — employment requires a separate visa.
